News
The US NOAA and Esri have announced that they are teaming up to create the prototype for a fully interoperable open data platform to “provide equitable, actionable and ready-to-use ocean and coastal data for decision makers and communities”.
On October 21st, the 1000 Ocean Startups coalition convened for its second Annual Gathering in Amsterdam. Here is a full document of insights from the event.

The One Ocean Science Congress taking place in Nice, France, in June of 2025, has an open call for papers on a broad range on ocean-related topics. The submission deadline is November 14th.
Female entrepreneurs from across the seafood sector are invited to apply to take part in Hatch Blue’s fourth Women in Ocean Food (WiOF) innovation studio. Learn more information about the program happening in January here, and apply to the program here. The application deadline is November 29th.
International Conference on AI For The Oceans 2025 is now accepting paper submissions. The deadline for initial submission is December 20th, 2024.
Hatch Blue, an aquaculture and alternative seafood investor, is looking for startups to join their accelerator program, in which they will invest $75,000 in each successful applicant.
Apply to Katapult’s Ocean Accelerator program that is designed to guide founders through complex entrepreneurial issues, add structure, and help raise a startup’s next round.

The Global Ocean Forum and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory are hosting a COP29 virtual ocean pavilion preview event entitled “From EEZs to the High Seas: Leveraging the ocean-climate-biodiversity nexus in accelerating the implementation of ocean-climate action” at 4AM ET on November 6th. The World Ocean Council will be hosting the Sustainable Ocean Summit and the Global Blue Finance Summit in Barcelona on November 5-6th, and 7th, respectively. See the program and register here.
The USDA and SeaAhead will be hosting an info session on SBIR/STTR & CRADA on November 6th at 11AM ET.
